About the Book: How Old Is the House questions mainstream beliefs about many scientific theories and current environmental problems. Arguments both for and against current theories and beliefs are examined so that you can decide what you want to believe. The Introduction is about a house that is either new or 150 years old - perhaps you can figure it out. Read the Introduction to the book, add comments to the blog and/or send questions to the author. Thank you for visiting this site. Please click on items at the left to learn more about the issues covered in the book. The information will appear in this center column. "How Old Is the House" describes and questions many current scientific beliefs. Conflicting facts and arguments are presented about popular scientific theories and environmental issues. While the book was not intended to focus on religion, many of our most important scientific discoveries and theories either support or oppose religious beliefs and these issues are discussed openly where relevant. Scientific and political organizations now control most of the scientific news that is released to mainstream media, and those who disagree with currently accepted theories are often ridiculed and sometimes even fired from their jobs. This is particularly true for the causes of global warming, the theory of evolution and the Big Bang theory although the scientific evidence supporting the currently accepted beliefs on these subjects is very speculative. It is common for the news media to ignore facts that do not agree with currently accepted beliefs and to fail to correct inaccurate information that they previously released. Science is not static. New information is continually being discovered and the new information eventually tends to alter our current scientific beliefs. For example, the Big Bang theory is widely believed but now has many credibility issues. You can see an overview of the Big Bang theory problems by clicking on "Big Bang Issues" in the left hand column. The book discusses these issues in greater detail. Another interesting theory is Intelligent Design. I encourage you to examine it closely as it is supported by statistical mathematics. The News Articles listed in the left hand column are based on subjects covered in the book, but many of them were written after the book publication date and may include information not found in the manuscript.
